Ginger Reddington’s love for painting began at a young age. As a child, she used to ride her bicycle down the road to take painting lessons from a man who would later become her professor while Ginger was a student at Pacific Lutheran University.

“I like to keep my paintings affordable so that people are able to enjoy them. It’s more important that people can have art in their home. I have a lot of young people who buy paintings, and it’s important that if they want it, that they can have it. I want to make it available for them.”

Ginger’s enjoys painting trees, landscapes and animals, especially horses. Her main medium is acrylic paints. Her work can be found at various retailers in Twisp and Winthrop, WA, including the Lost River Winery, the Cinnamon Twisp Bakery and the Twisp River Pub.

Ginger's techniques bring a close-up focus to animals and other natural subjects. “I have been in art all my life. I draw an animal using a felt tip, cover it with a layer of acrylics and then put on color and make it vibrant. I use a lot of metallics in my paintings to make them glow. I like to focus on close-ups of my subject. I love doing animals and do a lot of horses.  I like to paint things like I would like to see them in photographs.”

Ginger has taught painting in Spokane Art, in Yakima, WA and for Methow Arts. After having surgery, she refocused and started painting, skiing and horseback riding.

“You live your life to the fullest and that’s the most important thing.”
